Nebraska Violence
Risk & Threat
Assessment Cadre

Multidisciplinary Threat Assessment teams are currently being established across the State of Nebraska. These teams look at and manage behaviors that are associated with potential violence.

Violence Risk and Threat Assessment is the process by which various behaviors and actions are evaluated to determine whether or not an individual poses a risk of violence to themselves, to others, or to their community at large. Understandably, Mental Health has an essential role to play in these teams.

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (Division of Behavioral Health), in partnership with the University of Nebraska Public Policy Center, is developing and promoting clinical literacy and expertise in violence risk and threat assessment in Nebraska.

Additional training opportunities will be made available to a select group of clinicians who are interested in further developing their skills in Violence Risk and Threat Assessment. These individuals will ultimately form a Cadre, and become a resource for local schools and law enforcement.

Interested Clinicians licensed in Nebraska can apply to be part of this cadre, just click below:

A list of current Violence Risk and Threat Assessment Cadre members is available by email request to Denise Bulling dbulling2@unl.edu.
